Practice Test

Practice Test generates fresh multiple-choice questions on any concept in the syllabus. It is for learning, not scoring: take as many sets as your plan allows, read every explanation, and move on.

How big is it?

Each concept has three difficulty tiers — Basic, Intermediate and Advanced — and each tier gives you a set of five new questions. That is 15 questions per concept, so a subject's size follows its number of concepts:

total questions ≈ number of concepts × 15

Where a subject has Practice Test switched on, that works out to:

Subject Concepts × MCQs per concept ≈ Practice Test MCQs
CSIR · Chemical Sciences 395 15 5,925
CSIR · Earth Sciences 1,213 15 18,195
CSIR · Life Sciences and Biotechnology 797 15 11,955
CSIR · Physical Sciences 595 15 8,925
GATE · Chemistry (CY) 431 15 6,465
GATE · Physics (PH) 497 15 7,455
GATE · Life Sciences (XL) 732 15 10,980

The questions are generated fresh each time you click, so these totals describe how much the syllabus can produce, not a fixed list that runs out.

How the questions are written

  • From the syllabus. Questions come from the concept's anchor and learning objectives — Basic leans on recall and understanding, Intermediate on understanding and application, Advanced on application and analysis.
  • Wrong options with a reason. Distractors are built from the concept's recorded misconceptions, so each wrong option is a mistake a real student makes.
  • Balanced answer keys. The position of the correct option is assigned, not left to the model, so the answer is not always "C".
  • Varied formats and explanations. Questions vary in form, and each comes with an explanation.

Your allowance

Each click on a tier button is one set (five questions). How many sets you can generate depends on your plan, counted over rolling windows of 24 hours and 30 days:

Plan Sets per day Sets per month Max MCQs per month
Free Trial 2 3 15
Basic 10 120 600
Premium 20 240 1,200

A plan that shows "not included" does not offer Practice Test. Re-opening a set you already generated does not use any allowance.

Practice, then measure

Practice Test teaches. When you want a real, timed, negative-marked score, move to the Test Series.
