Terms & Conditions
Effective date: 1 January 2025 · Last updated: May 2026
Info
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of ExamCatalyst AI (the "platform"), including the website, the web application at app.examcatalyst.ai, and our WhatsApp and Telegram bots. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who We Are
ExamCatalyst AI is a self-study platform providing AI-generated study notes and MCQ practice for CSIR-NET and GATE exam aspirants (Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Earth Sciences), aligned to the official syllabus and based on standard textbooks.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts used in violation of these Terms, including sharing of login credentials or abuse of the platform's rate limits.
3. What ExamCatalyst AI Is — and Is Not
- Study notes and MCQ practice are AI-generated, on demand. Content is produced by a language model grounded in your subject's syllabus and textbooks; it is intended as a study aid, not a substitute for official coursework or textbooks.
- Practice MCQs are not a scored test. Practice questions (Basic/Intermediate/ Advanced) are non-deterministic — regenerating the same card can produce different question text — and are not checked against a fixed answer key. A "completed" card means a generation happened, not that any answer was verified correct.
- We make reasonable efforts to keep content accurate and exam-relevant, but we do not guarantee that any specific score, rank, or exam outcome will result from using the platform.
- Chemistry Tools (retrosynthesis, tree search, forward-synthesis prediction) is a computational aid for Chemical Sciences students. Predictions are model outputs and should be verified independently before being relied upon for any purpose beyond study.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
- Access to full subject content is sold via subscription tiers (Trial, Basic, Premium, Ultimate), purchased per subject through our payment gateway (Razorpay).
- Prices and validity periods are shown at the time of purchase on the Pricing page and may change for future purchases; changes do not affect an already-active subscription period.
- The Free Trial gives limited access to sample content and does not require payment details.
- Subscriptions grant access for the stated validity period only and do not automatically renew unless explicitly stated at checkout.
5. Refunds
- Because access is granted digitally and immediately upon payment, purchases are generally non-refundable once a subscription is activated.
- If you believe you were charged in error (e.g. a duplicate charge or a failed activation), contact support@examcatalyst.ai with your payment reference and we will investigate in good faith.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform to generate, request, or distribute content unrelated to CSIR-NET/GATE exam preparation, or content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringing.
- Attempt to circumvent subscription entitlements, rate limits, or access controls.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract platform content for redistribution or resale.
- Share your account or login credentials with others.
- Interfere with the platform's normal operation (e.g. automated abuse of generation endpoints, denial-of-service attempts).
We reserve the right to suspend access for any account found violating these terms, without refund.
7. Intellectual Property
- The platform, its underlying software, and its curated syllabus/content structure are the property of ExamCatalyst AI or its licensors.
- AI-generated notes and MCQs are provided for your personal study use. You may not resell, republish, or commercially redistribute generated content in bulk.
- Third-party components (including the underlying Open WebUI software and ASKCOS chemistry toolset) remain subject to their own respective licenses.
8. Third-Party Services
The platform integrates third-party services, including Razorpay (payments), and WhatsApp/Telegram (bot delivery). Your use of those services through our platform is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages or issues originating from third-party services outside our control.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or guaranteed availability. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExamCatalyst AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including exam outcomes, lost study time, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription giving rise to the claim.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
