Enrollment & Renewal Help

How to unlock a subject, choose a plan, complete payment, and renew or add a plan later. For a wider tour of the sidebar and Study Library, see Navigation Help.

Enrolling in a subject

  1. Open Study Library and pick your Exam → Subject → Topic → Lesson → Level (see Navigation Help for the full flow). The free trial gives you a sample of content, so you can browse before deciding to pay.
  2. Once you're viewing a subject's cards, look at the panel header in the top-right:
    • If you don't yet have an active plan for that subject, you'll see a 🔒 Subscribe → button.
    • If a previous plan on that subject has lapsed, you'll see an ↻ Renew → button instead (see Renewing a plan below).
  3. Click Subscribe to open the payment modal.

The payment modal

  1. Choose a plan. The modal lists every available tier for that subject (Basic, Premium, etc. — see Pricing for what each includes). Every plan unlocks the same full syllabus and all 6 study modes; plans differ in daily query volume and reasoning depth, not in content coverage.
  2. Choose a duration. Pick how many months to pay for up front (1 month, or a longer block where offered) — the price shown updates to match.
  3. Pay with Razorpay. Clicking Pay ₹[amount] with Razorpay → opens Razorpay's own secure checkout overlay, where you enter your payment details (card, UPI, netbanking, etc. — whatever Razorpay offers you). ExamCatalyst AI never sees or stores your card/bank details directly; that's handled entirely by Razorpay.
  4. If you close the Razorpay overlay without paying, you're simply returned to the plan-selection view — nothing is charged, and you can try again whenever you're ready.

Completing payment

Once Razorpay confirms your payment, the app automatically verifies it and activates your subscription — there's no separate "waiting for confirmation" step. You'll see:

  • A green ✓ Access Unlocked confirmation directly in the modal, confirming your content is now active (or, if you already held another plan for the same subject, a list of every plan now active for that subject — see Stacking multiple plans below).
  • A Start Studying → button to close the modal and continue right where you were.

No page reload or reopen needed

Your lesson cards update automatically the moment payment completes — you do not need to refresh the page or reopen Study Library. If a card's action buttons still look locked a few seconds after seeing the success confirmation, closing and reopening Study Library (or refreshing the page) will always reflect the correct state.

Renewing a plan

When a plan's validity period ends, it lapses rather than auto-renewing — you're never charged automatically. There are two places to renew, depending on where you are:

  • A fully lapsed subject (no active plan left at all) — the Study Library panel header shows ↻ Renew →. Click it to open the payment modal, exactly like enrolling for the first time.
  • A specific plan on a subject where you also hold another active plan — see Stacking multiple plans just below; each plan has its own independent Renew button next to its own expiry date.

Renewing works exactly like enrolling: pick a duration, pay with Razorpay, and your access extends immediately with no reload needed.

Stacking multiple plans on one subject

You can hold more than one plan on the same subject at once — for example, Basic for everyday quick questions and Premium for deeper study sessions, bought separately. A second plan adds to what you already have; it never replaces or cancels your existing plan.

When you have an active plan, the Study Library panel shows a status row for each active plan on that subject, with its own expiry date and its own Renew button — so you can renew (or let lapse) one plan independently of any others you hold for the same subject. Buying an additional plan (rather than renewing an existing one) works the same way as first-time enrollment: click Subscribe, pick the new plan in the payment modal, and pay — your existing plan is untouched.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Likely cause
Razorpay checkout doesn't open after clicking Pay Try reloading the page — this is usually a one-time script-loading hiccup, not a payment failure. You have not been charged.
Payment succeeded but cards still look locked Wait a few seconds, or reopen Study Library / refresh the page — see the tip above. If it persists after a refresh, contact support with your payment reference.
You were charged twice for the same plan Contact support immediately with both payment references — do not attempt to pay a third time.
The plan you expected to renew isn't shown Make sure you're viewing the same subject the plan belongs to — renewal buttons are scoped per subject and per plan.

Still stuck? Email support@examcatalyst.ai with your account email and, if relevant, your Razorpay payment reference.
